Duties
The incumbent provides the full range of human resources support for the National Cemeteries and District offices nationwide including counseling of federal benefits and retirement, new employee orientation, and processing personnel actions. Research laws, regulations, and policies for application to specific issues. The position provides human resources assistance to HR Specialists and a variety of current and former employees as well as beneficiaries or relatives. Proficiency in the use of a personal computer is required.
Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications
Eligible applicants must already be at the Full Performance Level (FPL) of GS-07 grade of the position (or higher).
Must have the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
This vacancy is open only to current CTAP or ICTAP eligible applicants.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
