General Description:

Under general direction, performs various functions in marketing, order entry and customer service. Operates computer and integrated software packages to complete varied assignments involving creation of charts.

Guidance from Sales is readily available.

Essential Duties:

1. Compares and verifies bills of lading, invoices and orders.

2. Provides pricing and delivery information and processes orders.

3. Resolves customer and broker complaints/problems by personal contact, correspondence and telephone.

4. Receives EDI transmissions daily and enters purchase orders via EDI.

Other Duties:

1. Maintains daily order log and other records and documentation of all related items.

2. Procures quotes and bids from suppliers for projects.

3. Serves as a back up Sales Assistant and Data Entry in their absence.

4. Maintains clean and safe work area.

5. Performs a variety of additional tasks as directed.

Machines and Equipment Used:

General office equipment including; computer and integrated software packages, telephone, fax, 10-key calculator and copier.

Job Conditions/Complexity:

Usual office conditions.

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

Qualifications:

Requires basic reading, writing and good mathematical skills. Computer skills, using Windows, Made2Manager, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Requires interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with public. Requires ability to plan and organize and coordinate with all levels of personnel. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and perform repetitive movements with upper extremities. Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
