Job Summary: Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities in assigned area. Develops policies and procedures making sure regulatory agencies and TJC standards are met. Demonstrates a sound knowledge of food management. Monitors levels of satisfaction and menus. Plans budget, recruits personnel, trains, coaches, reviews, counsels and evaluates performance.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or 10 years of food service management experience.

Work Experience: 1 year of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all activities of assigned departments. Assures that policies, procedures, and standards for the entire department are in compliance with regulatory agencies and TJC standards including patient focused functions. Provides customer-oriented service by utilizing leadership skills and specialized knowledge of food management and clinical dietetics. Plans, identifies and monitors menus and levels of satisfaction for optimal delivery of nutritional care while maintaining budgeted expenses. Plans and administers department budget for area of responsibility, utilizing cost effective practices and revenue generating programs. Maintains service and monthly records. Recruits and selects appropriate personnel, oversees training and development, coaches, reviews, counsels, documents and evaluates performance of employees.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

Working Relationships: Direct supervision of others-No. of people supervised: varies:(10-20+). Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal/external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at director level or above.
