Job Summary: The LIBR Adolescent Brain & Cognitive Development Research Coordinator administers and coordinates the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, under the direction and supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI). This role oversees and organizes the collection of data among a team of research assistants with high fidelity and reliability standards and serves as a steadfast resource on the research team.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or health related field. Master’s degree, preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Clinical license in related specialty, preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience. Extensive experience managing a research or clinical team, strongly preferred. Experience related to clinical trials, institutional review board (IRB) and/or grant administration, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the processes of clinical research and skilled in providing administration and organizational support. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organization skills that include working with a complex set of activities, people, and information, in a regularly changing environment. Ability to design and implement systems for education, monitoring, recordkeeping, process design, and the use of evidence for decision making. Proven ability to coordinate, motivate, and mentor team members and others involved in research processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Coordinates research activities within the ABCD Team including adherence to established protocols, applicable regulations, and project management throughout the lifecycle of the research study, which involves the feasibility, engagement, follow-up and close-out stages, under the close direction and supervision of the PI at all stages. Collaborates closely with both internal and external ABCD investigators and leadership teams. Contributes to the study administration, including annual reports, study protocol updates, organization of Community Advisory Board meetings, and institutional review board submissions. Facilitates and maintains a value-driven culture amongst the team that can meet high standards of performance. Assists in organization of professional and career development trainings for the research team.
Decision Making: Independent judgement in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.
Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
