Job Summary: The psychology intern provides psychological assessment services to patients across levels of care.

Minimum Education: Candidate for Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology. The psychology intern is selected annually following a nation-wide application and selection process.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

Work Experience: 3 - 4 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other professionals. Knowledge of objective and projective testing techniques. Competency in psychometrics. Graduate experience conducting psychological assessments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests. Write psychological reports. Provide test feedback to patients, parents, and other LPCH providers.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.

Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction Works with other healthcare professionals and staff
