Proposal Development Specialist RSP/4 Research and Sponsored Programs CODES JOB CODE: 7152 EEO: 03 GRADE: 16 OTRS: Optional E/NE: Non-Exempt VAC: 7 hr DEGREE: 01 SAFETY SENSITIVE: No DATE: 10/17 ADMINISTRATIVE TITLE: 67 MANPOWER RESOURCE: 6 Proposal Development and Outreach Coordinator Job Summary Northeastern State University (NSU) is seeking a Proposal Development and Outreach Coordinator to support faculty research, grant development, and institutional outreach. This is a full-time, grant-funded position anticipated for four years. The Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs and collaborate with faculty, university offices, and partner institutions. The position will help identify funding opportunities, strengthen grant proposals, coordinate training and outreach activities, support grant administration, and expand research collaborations across NSU and partner institutions. Major Duties Identify and share federal, state, foundation, and industry funding opportunities with faculty and departments. Assist faculty with developing competitive grant proposals, including collaborative and multi-institutional proposals. Coordinate grant writing workshops, webinars, training sessions, and other proposal development activities. Provide targeted grant development assistance to early-career faculty and faculty new to grantsmanship. Support faculty during pre-award and post-award activities. Assist with internal and external seed funding applications and other research development programs. Track project budgets, expenditures, fiscal reporting, and cost-share commitments. Coordinate with the jurisdiction-wide Proposal Development Team (PDT) and university partners. Support Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training and promote access to research resources, including the Oklahoma Core Facility Network (OCFN). Help develop partnerships with regional and statewide research institutions. Maintain grant-related communications, records, reports, and outreach materials. Assist in grant transition from Pre to Post award Perform other duties related to the successful implementation of the grant and NSU #39;s research development goals. Other duties as assigned Knowledge Required General knowledge of grant proposal development and sponsored programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners. Basic knowledge of budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting. Proficiency with standard office and electronic communication tools. Ability to research and communicate funding opportunities effectively. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor #39;s degree from an accredited institution. Experience in grant development, research administration, project coordination, higher education, or a related area. Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in higher education or a research environment. Experience with federal, state, foundation, or industry-sponsored grants. Experience supporting proposal development and/or pre- and post-award activities. Experience coordinating workshops, professional development, or outreach programs. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification. Familiarity with collaborative or multi-institutional research proposals.
