Position Purpose: Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, assists professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and frees staff from non-professional duties.Essential Job Functions: Assists and guides students to reinforce academics and other skills; works with students individually and in small groups; assists in administration/correction of classroom work; helps prepare instructional materials; maintains records; assists with behavior management; assists in non-instructional supervision (lunch, bus, playground, halls, study hall); accompanies students on field trips; constructs/copies/distributes educational materials; assists with parent contact; assists students with special needs; participates in IEP process; assists with activities of daily living; follows all safety rules.Additional Duties: Assists guidance/pupil services/administration; performs other related duties as assigned. Equipment: Uses standard office equipment.Travel Requirements: May travel between schools and central offices.
