Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, maximize the learning experience of students with special needs by implementing district-approved curriculum; documenting progress; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.Essential Functions: Conduct assessments and diagnostics; participate in PPTs and develop IEPs; assist in implementing IEPs and behavior plans; coordinate with agencies and staff; serve as resource to students and parents; continue professional learning; maintain accurate records; encourage parental involvement; assist in orientation and in-service; manage resources.Qualifications: State Certification as a Special Education Teacher; Motor Vehicle Operator's License or transportation; Bachelor's in applicable education discipline (Master's in Special Education preferred); prior special education teaching experience preferred. FLSA Status: Exempt.
