Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting progress; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.Essential Functions include conducting assessments and diagnostics; participating in IEPs; assisting with IEP and behavior plan implementation; coordinating with agencies and staff; serving as a resource to students and parents; maintaining records; encouraging parental involvement; assisting in new teacher orientation; and selecting/requisitioning materials.Qualifications: State Certification as a Special Education Teacher; valid driver’s license; Bachelor’s in education; Master’s in Special Education preferred; prior special education teaching experience preferred.
