Job posted: October 20, 2023Executive Director– Directs the operations and service programs to fulfill the goals and mission of the library System for the overall purpose of meeting the informational, recreational and intellectual needs of the communities it serves; works collaboratively with the System Board of Trustees to set the strategic direction and policies of the library System; performs executive and administrative duties in planning, developing and implementing library services and outreach; oversees the management of all System staff while serving as the external face of the library System.
Directs the management of fifteen branch libraries in six eastern Oklahoma counties. Directs strategic and system-wide planning for services, facilities, staffing, and technology. Develops and recommends policies to the board; implements policies and procedures. Develops and implements the System’s fundraising strategy including creating the Budget. Provides guidance and direction to staff on the System’s strategic direction, standards of service and staff development. Identifies and resolves personnel issues; models expected behaviors. Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with local officials, government entities, public service organizations, Friends, community groups, and the public. Represents the library System in branch communities and at appropriate events. Works with Branch Managers, Senior Staff and oversees the Support Services department.
MLS/MLIS and seven or more years of public library administration experience.
