POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

ACCOUNTING CLERK

EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Accounting or Business

preferred or equivalent experience.

Any advanced accounting and finance courses are strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years accounting experience.

Additional experience in utility accounting is desirable.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a good working knowledge of office

practices and established accounting procedures. Knowledge of the RUS Uniform System of Accounts is desirable. Should be familiar with the operation of

standard office equipment and have an understanding of data entry and data processing procedures.

ABILITIES & SKILLS: Should have the ability to apply accepted accounting

practices to a wide range of responsibilities and

duties. Must be accurate and have reasonable

speed in the use of a keyboard, calculator,

and personal computer and be proficient in

working with detailed numbers and calculations.

Must have the ability to communicate both verbally

and in written form and organize work to meet deadlines.
