Job Description Summary

  • Multi-functional position, incorporating the performance of mechanic duties on various pieces of machinery and operating equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience working on construction equipment, preferably dump trucks, trailers, wheel loaders, skid steers, and tug boats
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must provide own tools (up to 1/2” drive mechanical and pneumatic, plus job-required tools)
  • Basic MIG, TIG, and stick welding experience preferred
  • Ability to use cutting torches and standard shop tools
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
  • Basic computer skills (Excel and/or OEM diagnostic systems)
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working at heights
  • Must wear required PPE at all times
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license (up to 26,000 lbs)
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Reliable attendance required to support crew efficiency
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude with coworkers, customers, and the public
  • Flexibility with schedule, location, and shift changes
  • Willingness to assist in other roles as needed for job completion
  • Must pass drug test and background check
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
  • Must provide own tools (up to 1/2” drive)
  • Required: Must have 5 years of experience working on diesel trucks and construction equipment, OR completion of a 2-year college-level technical program in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this role
